Riot Content is an independent production company specialising in the development and production of long form drama and documentaries.

The bedrock of our approach is our unwavering dedication to finding the most compelling and engaging story within an idea, and our passion for the science and craft of developing it. We are fierce defenders of the idea that everything starts with story, and are self proclaimed nerds for our process of story development and scriptwriting.

We strive to make character driven films with unique points of view that engage, entertain and move audiences.

TEAM

Dave and Marty first joined forces in 2017, where they quickly melded into a dynamic creative team, each bringing a diverse set of skills and experience to the partnership.

Since then, under the shared banner of Riot, they have built upon that partnership with a focus on long form documentaries and features, with 2023 seeing Marty and Dave advancing a number of films through various stages of production from development through to completion.

They work together in the capacity as writers, directors and creative producers, trading and sharing these hats depending on the project.

SLATE

Their rapidly expanding slate includes;

  • a feature biopic and docuseries that charts the extraordinary life of surfing legend Mark Occhilupo;

  • a true crime docuseries that exposes a dark underworld of systemic corruption festering within the highest levels of power;

  • a feature that brings to life the incredible true story of how the wild theory of a 29y/o rookie agent led to the take-down of a notorious South American drug cartel;

  • a psychological thriller that explores the true measures of trust within family when a teenager is found alive ten years after her disappearance;

  • a docuseries, presented by Tony Armstrong, that delves into the inner machinations of the 2001 AFL off-season, unveiling how the actions of a select few had a ripple effect on the league in the decade that followed;

  • and a docuseries that follows two ambitious entrepreneurs as they scour the globe in search of the next great technological advancement in humankind, staking a $100 million investment fund on their ability to find it.
